Radar from The Personal
Severe weather on the way? You’ll have it on your Radar.
Severe weather has become more frequent and extreme over the past few years. These conditions can wreak havoc on your property. To help you prepare for these events, The Personal offers you RadarTM, a new severe weather alert service, via our mobile app.
Radar helps you protect your property
While most weather apps provide regional forecasts, Radar can pinpoint severe weather risks for a specific address.
The Personal is one of the first insurance companies in Canada to offer such localized alerts.1
Enter the locations you want to watch in your mobile app and Radar will send an alert if there’s a severe weather system coming your way:
- Wildfire (New!)
- Hail (2.5 cm or larger)
- Heavy rain
- High wind
- Tornado
- Hurricane
If Radar detects a weather risk for one of your watched locations (e.g. home, cottage, parent’s condo), you’ll get an alert. It could be the heads-up you need to protect your property and make sure you and your loved ones are safe.

Every year, water causes substantial losses and damage to countless items we hold dear.
To prevent such incidents, clients of the Personal can now receive a free water and frozen pipe detector.
All you need is a Wi-Fi connection at home and a compatible smartphone.
