Ajusto analyzes your driving data and calculates your score, based on:
Your driving behaviour
Distractions
Cellphone use while driving is one of the leading causes of collisions. If you stay off your phone when driving, you’ll improve your score and help make the roads safer.
Acceleration
Avoiding fast acceleration helps reduce the risk of a collision. You'll improve your score by pulling away from stops gently.
Braking
By keeping a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front, you'll have enough time to brake in an emergency and avoid a collision. Smooth braking will improve your score.
Speed
Respecting the speed limit decreases the risk of a collision and helps improve road safety. That being said, the parameters of the app have been set to allow a small margin over the legal speed limit (between 10 and 15 km/h depending on the limit), without compromising the safety values we want to promote. To maximize your score, drive at a safe speed.
Your driving habits
Time of day travelled
The risk of an accident is higher at certain times. That's why Ajusto associates a level of risk with different times of day. For example, driving at night is considered riskier than driving during the day due to driver fatigue and reduced visibility in the dark.
Distance travelled
The less you drive, the more you save. Shorter trips pay off because they increase your score.
Routine trips
If you take the same routes all the time, you're less likely to encounter surprises and have an accident. The more regular your daily routine, the higher your score will be.
